Quem estava familiarizado com o meu blog anterior, Conselhos para Jovens Escritores, já deve saber a importância que eu dou à música quando escrevo. Playlists são, na minha opinião, importantes na vida de um escritor. Neste artigo podes descobrir a música que deu vida a Sombras e inspiraram o que eu considero ser as melhores cenas.
Quem me conhece sabe que eu gosto ora da música Rock, ou das músicas mais deprimentes e sombrias que existem (especialmente quando estou a tentar “entrar” dentro das cenas mais misteriosas).
Se tivesse de escolher umas quantas bandas que têm um papel importante em tudo o que escrevo seria: Within Temptation, Flyleaf e Digital Daggers (estas bandas contam uma história, dão uma alusão acerca do cenário em que escrevo e marcam o tom).
Mas existe uma lista bastante importante onde estão as músicas que, de uma maneira ou de outra, me deram inspiração com as suas letras para escrever uma certa parte, cena ou capítulo inteiro do livro.

A versão que eu ouvia enquanto escrevia era a versão original da banda acima, mas recentemente encontrei uma ainda mais arrepiante dos Mourning Ritual.

Apesar de não pertencer exatamente ao género ou tom das restantes músicas, esta música é bastante importante para mim porque foi ao ouvi-la, quando estava a conduzir de regresso a casa que veio-me à mente uma das minha frases preferidas no livro inteiro “Os meus demónios não são como os outros demónios (…)”. Eu quase que corri para casa, entrei pelo quarto adentro, sentei-me na secretária com o meu caderno de apontamentos e anotei a frase inteira, mais tarde inclui-a na história.

Podem ter reparado que não existe nenhuma música dos Within Temptation que me fez escrever diretamente uma cena, mas isto é porque, para mim, todo o livro foi criado à volta desta banda. Era essa banda que estava a ouvir quando a história me surgiu, quando estava a criar os personagens, enquanto criava os cenários. Ouvi-a tantas vezes que no final já não conseguia criar cenas específicas ao som dessa banda porque a única coisa que conseguia ver era o livro num todo.
