Patricia Morais has changed her mind about her profession more times than she can count, but one thing she always knew for certain is that she wanted to tell stories.

She is the author of The World of Shadows series. Her books Sombras and Chamas are currently available in Portuguese, while the novellas Tides, The Banshee Cries, and Bloodlines belong to The World of Shadows: Origins series, published in English. Patricia is also the author of The Guide to Writing a Book, part of her Author Toolkit series.

In 2016, she traveled to China to study kung-fu at a traditional academy hidden in the mountains, where she discovered a deep hatred for running. She later recorded that experience in her memoir Crónicas de Shaolin.

Her favourite hobby is procrastinating with a popcorn bucket and watch supernatural movies (or tv shows) while calling it “research”. Her second hobby is to fall down Wikipedia rabbit holes, in search of strange monsters and legends. The kind of actual “research” that finds its way into her stories.
